Amorgos is known for its wild and dramatic mountains with herbs and beautiful walking paths. You will find walking tracks for all levels.
Langada – Theologos

You walk from the mountain village of Langada to Byzantine church Theologos. It is built on the site of an ancient temple in beautiful surroundings.
Distance: 4 km, about 1-1½ hours one way

Langada – Stavros

You walk from the mountain village of Langada to the church of Stavros build just over the old bauxite mine. This is one of the loneliest places of Amorgos with a amazing view over the sea and a magical feeling.

Aegiali – Langada – Tholaria – Aegiali
|

A walk around the mountains side of the valley of Aegiali passing throw the picturesque villages Langada Stroumbos and Tholaria. You can also just choose to walk some part of the track.
Distance: 9 km, about 2½ hours the whole walk
Level: Easy
Supplies: Only a bottle of water since there are a lot of possibilities for provision in the villages. |

Langada – Wind mills
The walk to the “roof of the world”. The mills are just on the ridge above the village of Langada. This was the mills for the local people to grind their grain and they was used until 1975.

Tholaria – Mikri Glifada

You start from the village of Tholaria and walk to the ravine of Mikri Glifada where you can be alone and swim in the clear waters.

Aegiali – Chora – The Monastery of Hozoviotissa

You start in Aegiali in the north and walk on the ridge to the Monastery in the middle of the island, the best is to walk one way and then take the bus back.
Distance: 20 km, about 4-5 hours one way

The walk starts in Aegiali throw the village of Potamos and to the beautiful cliffs of Xalara. A walk which leads you to one of the most quiet places on Amorgos with beautiful crystal clear waters.

Chora – Katapola

The route is marked nr 2, connects Chora with Katapola in about one hour. The path is old and actually it looks like a traditional path for donkeys.

Vroutsi – Arkesini

You walk from Vroutsi in the south of Amorgos to the Ancient Arkesini from 4th century BC. This is one of the most important ancient monuments with its tower of Agia Triada.
